PCU Magazine
Welcome to the second issue of PCU Magazine!
The goal of PCU is to build people into the stature of Christ. With this goal in mind, you will find interviews, articles and short commentaries.
In the future we plan to cover alumni activities. We intend to keep you abreast about where our alumni have gone and what great things they are doing for the Kingdom of God.
PCU Student Interviews
of Steven & Carole Busque, 03-01-2009
Mag: Why do you attend classes at PCU?
Carole: I wanted a more
in-depth study of the Word. As we are in the end times I wanted to
be one of God's warriors that knows His Word and is prepared in
season and out, for whatever He asks me to do.
Steven:
To get a more formal training in
God's Word, and hopefully graduate with a degree. Attending
PCU also holds me accountable to His Word, my family and those whom
I influence.
Mag: How do you think
others are being blessed by you attending PCU?
Steven: Attending
PCU once a week is challenging. It is almost like diving into a
crash coarse in learning, absorbing and completing assignments.
I think that we encourage each other by "sticking it out" and
running the race together.
Carole: The material that
is presented at PCU causes us to open our eyes to God's Word and we
are strengthened as we study and worship together. There is a
commitment that we all make to attend PCU and do the assignments,
and I believe God honors that bringing even greater understanding to
each person. As we study we gain a greater understanding
of who God is, what He has done for us and the blessings He has made
available to us as His children. We learn then how to tap into
the power He has put within us because of the infilling of the Holy
Spirit, and living a life of obedience unto God.
Mag:
What do you think
about the future effects of you going to PCU?
Steven: I'm
hoping that it'll encourage other students to attend.
Personally, I know that it will build me up to be a stronger
person/Christian that I can be used by God to minister to the lost
more effectively.
Carole:
We will and are, becoming equipped to do
the work of the ministry in whatever capacity God has called us to.
In the meantime
dedicating more time to learning has caused an acceleration in our
spiritual growth. We are in our second year of Bible College
and we have learned not just what has been taught in the classes but
God has moved in our hearts to cause growth in every area of our
lives. At work, which can be very very frustrating and
stressful, I have a new calm and sense of peace. When
customers start yelling, God brings a peace and an understanding for
their situation. One time I even had a customer say at the end
of our conversation (after venting at me for a while), ""You have
been my light in the dark today". I thought to myself, "Just
doing my job", my kingdom job that is.
Short Faith Commentary
by Dr. Nick Van Rensburg 2-17 and 23-2009
In the Garden of Eden righteousness was lost through unbelief. Adam and Eve chose to not have faith in God. God also cast the angels out of heaven, those that did not believe in Him. All along God has always wanted us to believe in Him.
Every time we panic, we show unbelief in God. For example the disciples woke up Jesus when he was sleeping in the back of the boat.
Abraham was made righteous through his belief in God. He stopped considering his own body which was as good as dead. Instead of considering the facts before him, he meditated on whom God is and God's promises. Abraham was fully convinced that God will do as He said He would. He had faith.
